365体育网站 Claude James Shene, 87, of Lake Clear, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at the CareOne Facility in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Born in Vermontville on Dec. 23, 1932, he was the son of Hubert and Florence (Aubin) Shene. Claude married Catherine (Beaney) Donaldson on Oct. 27, 1979, in First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake.

365体育网站 Claude was a lifelong resident of the Saranac Lake area and had worked for the Town of Harrietstown Highway Department until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and vacationing in Nova Scotia.

He is survived by his wife Catherine “Kay” Beaney Donaldson Shene, his son Claude “Tyke” Shene Jr. of North Branch Callicoon Center, his son James Shene of Georgia, his daughter Rhea Lynn Shene- Davis of Garnerville, his daughter Cindy Shene of Albany, his brother Gary Shene of Bloomingdale, his sister Elliody Bickford of Vermontville, his sister Laurel Giddings of Vermontville, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael David Shene; two daughters, Carolyn Dawn Shene and Helen Loretta Shene; three brothers: Almon “Al”365体育网站 Shene, Carl Shene and Malcom Shene; and a sister Bertha Sawyer.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date after the coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
